Product Description

Stay warm and comfortable, no matter the season, in our outstanding Thermodown 0 down sleeping bag. With excellent materials and performance, your search for a great four-season sleeping bag ends here!

Superior Insulation

Cold weather is no match for the 32 oz. of 700-fill power down insulation stuffed into every corner of this bag. You will stay toasty warm down to 0F (-17C). However, the added warmth does not compromise on size and weight. The bag packs down to just 11 x 8 inches and comes in at only 3 lb.

Benefits

We've done our best to make this a great bag.

  • On warm nights, easily shed heat with the large two-way YKK zipper which opens from top and bottom.
  • To prevent annoying snags, we've incorporated a wide zipper guard.
  • To keep the heat in, a large draft collar automatically wraps around your neck. No need to deal with cumbersome drawstrings or scratchy velcro. The fully insulated and contoured hood can also be completely cinched down.
  • A roomy trapezoidal foot box with extra insulation will keep your toes nice and warm.

Accessories

The bag comes with a durable compression sack allowing you to easily fit the bag into your pack. Between adventures, use the included mesh storage bag or hanging loops to properly store the bag.

For complete waterproof protection, consider our 12L version of our ultralight waterproof stuff sacks (sold separately).

How do I care for my new down sleeping bag?

  1. When you first receive the bag, run it in the dryer at the low-temperature or air fluff setting for about 10 minutes to loosen up the down that has been compressed during the shipping process.
  2. When heading out on the trail, use the included compression sack to protect the bag and also reduce the amount of space it takes up in your pack. Use care when stuffing the bag into the compression sack.
  3. Between trips, always store your bag using the included mesh storage sack or the hanging loops.
  4. Always wash your bag by hand or a front-load tumble washer. Never use a top load washer. Never use bleach.

For more detailed care instructions, including how to make repairs, please review our complete guide.

How do you determine the temperature rating?

We've put together an in-depth article on how we determine our temperature ratings. The guide also provides lots of helpful advice regarding making an informed decision.

How can I increase the temperature rating of my sleeping bag?

If you'd like to use our down bag at temperatures of 0 degrees and below, you may consider adding a sleeping bag liner to add about 10 degrees to the warmth rating. The Sea to Summit Thermolite Sleeping Bag Liner is a great option.

Is the Thermodown 0 suitable for backpacking?

Yes! Despite its warmth, the bag weighs only 2 lbs. 13 oz. (Regular) and 3 lbs. 1 oz. (Long), and it compresses well, making it great for cold-weather backpacking trips.

Does it include a stuff sack and storage bag?

Yes, each Thermodown 0 comes with a compression stuff sack for packing and a large mesh storage bag for long-term storage at home.

Can the Thermodown 0 zip together with another sleeping bag?

No, the Thermodown 0 is designed as a single mummy-style bag and does not feature compatible zippers for pairing with another bag.

How should I store the sleeping bag when not in use?

Store the bag uncompressed in the included mesh storage sack or hang it to preserve loft. Avoid keeping it packed tightly for long periods.

Is this bag too warm for summer trips?

The Thermodown 0 is optimized for cold conditions and may be too warm for mild summer nights. For summer trips, consider a lighter quilt or sleeping bag rated for warmer temperatures.

Can I return or exchange the sleeping bag?

Yes, returns and exchanges are accepted within 60 days of delivery as long as the bag is clean and in resellable condition. Contact us with your order number to get started.

We offer two shipping services within the United States:

  • Free Standard Shipping = 5-7 Day Ground Shipping
  • Expedited Shipping = 2-4 Day Express Shipping

Do you ship outside of the United States?

Yes, we ship to all of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. We also ship to select European countries that include the following; UK, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Switzerland, France, Sweden, Finland, Poland and Ireland.

All international orders are shipped via DHL Express with all Duties Paid. This means that all import taxes and duties are prepaid. No additional fees will be collected from the customer.

Most international deliveries are made within 4-6 business days, although more remote locations can take a couple of extra days. All international shipments are fully tracked from door-to-door.

If your destination is not listed above, we apologize that we're not able to accommodate direct shipments to you. However, some of our customers have successfully used 3rd party international parcel forwarding services.

What is your return/exchange policy?

We offer 60 days to accommodate any returns or exchanges of non-defective products. In some cases, we can accommodate returns and exchanges past 60 days, but these will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Any returns after 60 days will only be offered store credit.

What items are eligible for a return?

To be eligible for a return and refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

If you've purchased a tent or tarp and would like to set it up in your backyard, please do so on a dry, clear day to keep the tent/tarp as clean as possible. Pitch the tent/tarp on dry grass if possible and use other stakes if you have them available. This will keep the tent/tarp and stakes in an unused condition to facilitate a return.

If items sent back for a return/exchange show clear signs of use (excessive dirt, animal hair, etc.), the return/exchange will be rejected and the items will be shipped back.

Are shipping fees refundable?

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the initial cost of shipping your order (if any) will be deducted from your refund.

Is return shipping free?

No, the cost of return shipping will be subtracted from the refund amount. We will provide a prepaid return label for the return shipment. The cost of return shipping will be provided to you along with the prepaid return label.

Please note that due to our shipping volume, we have access to significantly lower shipping rates than retail. As a result, the cost of the return shipping will be much lower, resulting in a higher refund.

How do I initiate a return/exchange?

To initiate a return/exchange, please email us at support@pariaoutdoorproducts.com with the following information:

  • Your original order number
  • The items to be returned/exchanged
  • The reason for the return/exchange

Once your return/exchange request is received, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label along with the cost of return shipping. If you decide to proceed with the return, please use this label to send the items back to us. We will only accept returns that are shipped via the prepaid return label. This ensures that the shipment will be trackable and insured.

Once the returned items are delivered and inspected (please allow 1-2 weekdays for inspection), we will issue your refund or exchange.

When a refund is processed, a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment and you will receive an email notification. Please allow 2-5 business days for the credit to appear.

What about international returns?

If you are an international customer, the same 60 day return/exchange policy applies. To initiate an international return, please contact us at the email address above and provide the same order/item to be returned information. We will then coordinate with you on the return process, which will differ slightly depending on your exact location. The return instructions above only apply to US customers.

It will work

Slept in this bag down to 0 degrees (and a bit below, truck said -4 one morning) while elk hunting in the Sarvis wilderness area in CO. I will say that it kept me warm enough to sleep but I was not toasty warm when around 0 degrees f. I was sleeping in heavier layers than most too - I was wearing a heavy merino base layer top along with a Stone Glacier Helio top and the Stone Glacier M7 fleece lined pants. My feet would have been very cold if I had not used down booties. Still an amazing bag for the price and did its job. Just would have enjoyed sleeping a little better a few of those nights. For anything 10 degrees and warmer this bag will work amazing for you.

GREAT BAG But...

So, I love the bag but on my first campout with it one of the compression bag straps riped out of the seams and rendered the bag useless, if it boasts durable it should be durable. I still love this company but better compression sacks

Thumbs Up

My Son's first backyard camping adventure was a great success! Partially because of the copious amounts of hot dogs and marshmallows, but also thanks to the Paria 0 degree bag, he slept through the night like a champ. It got down to around 20F and he even took his hot water Nalgene out of the bag because he was too toasty.

I know a single night test doesn't say much, but I've used the Paria 15F quilt for 3 years now and been really impressed. The quality and value had me come back for this bag and I'm glad I did, and glad to have a little dude excited for his next adventure.

Thanks Paria, appreciate y'all!

Great Value

Overall this bag is incredible for the money. Very warm! Slept in the cloud peak wilderness in Wyoming above tree line over the weekend with cold mornings and snow coming down. This bag had me sweating.

Would buy again for the price. The only thing keeping it from being 5 stars is the zipper is on the wrong side to suite my tent and was a real pain. Would give this bag 10 stars if there were zippers on both sides.

Very warm bag - 3 tests well below freezing

I’m 5’10”, and a mere 156lbs (so I’m built for heat loss!) - Regular size seemed just right. My head lined up with the head area, feet fit into the foot-box!

INTRO SUMMARY:
I’m assuming that like most bag ratings, the 0º rating is the “safety limit”, and not the comfort limit. (The comfort limit is usually 10º or 15ºF higher). So with that assumption, the bag definitely lives up to expectations, if not better! With slight additions mentioned below, I could probably still be comfortable at 0º (or lower) when paired with a warm sleep pad (with an R-value near 8). If it isn't quite warm enough closer to the 0º temperature rating, extra layers, booties, and toe warmers should suffice (and maybe a fleece lining). But I think I'll be fine if I get out into the wild in these near-0º temps.
Maybe I need to get more familiar with the zipper, but it did seem to be getting caught the closer to my head I zipped it, but I’m getting better with that after a few uses (it naturally doesn’t zip well when I have it spread open near the top). I liked that I can unzip it from near the bottom if I need to dump excess heat! It does seem like a quality YKK zipper.

TWO TESTS OF THE BAG SO FAR:
I wanted to know how low I can go with my different sleep pads in either a campground setting (where I can bring bigger and more comfortable gear) but also in a back-country camping scenario (in the woods, on a mountain in New Hampshire, etc…) where I would need smaller and lighter equipment (like a sleep pad). In both tests, I did not use a tent - I was 10 feet from my house on a tarp (more on this below).

TEST 1:
I tested this bag out in my yard a month ago at 26ºF on an R-8.5 insulated sleep-pad (this time on camping cot) - I was way too warm! (The pad I used was the huge but cheap “Elegear Self Inflating Sleeping Pad for Camping” from Amazon - great for a campground, but NOT good for backpacking). I didn't quite break into a sweat (so not insanely hot), but I was uncomfortably warm! (That same pad and a cheap 45º Walmart bag woke me in a hot sweat in the 40s). That said, I would suspect that Paria’s sleep pad would do the trick at this temp, or at least at/above freezing.

TEST 2:
I wanted to do an even colder test in the teens/single digits (F). So I tried the ThermoDown-0 again last night - I probably should have tested apples-for-apples and used the Elegear pad again in these lower temps, but I wanted to see how comfortable I’d be backpacking - which I want to do soon! So this time I used the smaller Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm NXT (R-7.3 insulation value) sleep pad on top of my Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite SOL closed foam pad. It was 13ºF when I went outside, and it got down to 7ºF by 6am when I woke up. I didn’t really do a lot of serious layering (so more base layers would only help): I was wearing under-armor gym pants, a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. I wore wool socks with cheap down booties from Amazon, a thin gator over my neck and mouth (so I could breath through my cold nose), my sweatshirt hood with a knit hat on my head, and ski goggles. Oh, and I kept my thin 2-season puffy jacket on because I didn’t want to take it off getting in the bag! Only my nose felt cold! Overall I was warm enough (maybe my arms felt a bit cool, and I wonder if I should have gotten the wider XTherm pad to alleviate that). I tucked my hands under my butt to keep my arms close to me, and I think I was fine after that. The only issue was my feet got cold (even with the booties, but I wonder if I got snow on my socks - wetness) - so in the future, at this temp, I would either bring toe-warmers which I already have for skiing, or I would put a hot Nalgene bottle at my feet. I think in the past I just placed a puffy jacket over my feet - that could do the trick too, but I haven’t tested that at these temperatures. Otherwise, I think I would be fine near 0º F as long as I help my feet stay warm!
I also have a Litume fleece sleeping bag liner I could use to extend the temperature range further (this cheap one from Amazon claims you can go another 27º lower….I’ll just hope for 10 or 15).

BONUS TEST 3:
My wife (5’2”) also slept in it around 23ºF and she was a bit too warm. I’m thinking about getting her the Short version.

CONCLUSION:
In each test, I was on a tarp with no tent - so exposed to the open air. (One use-case I’m considering is a 3-sided lean-to shelter in the mountains, so I wouldn’t need a tent for that).

That said, if I were to use a pad like the Elegear at a campground in similar temps, I suspect my feet would have stayed warmer. I’m fairly confident that I'd still be very comfortable down into the teens (or even single digits) pairing the Paria ThermoDown-0 with that very warm pad and additional layers (and toe warmers).
Bottom line: this is a very warm bag and an incredible deal. As for weight - any bag that is much lighter will tend to cost 3x-6x the price. I can handle 3.5 lbs vs 2 lb...
