Product Description

A Backpacker Magazine Top Pick!

You just finished a long day of hiking, found the perfect campsite with an epic view and are ready to settle in for the night. Nothing could be more perfect than cinching up your sleeping bag or quilt on a nice comfortable sleeping pad.

That's why we designed our ReCharge sleeping pads with comfort in mind. Narrower vertical baffles that run across the body create a smooth sleeping surface while the non-slip finish of the diamond rip-stop will keep you from sliding off the pad.

Our ReCharge XL is the king of comfort, with a spacious 76 x 23-inch sleeping surface and 4-inch thickness that will rival your mattress at home. However, it still weighs in at a pack-friendly 26 ounces.

We wanted our ReCharge pads to be true 3-season pads. We've laminated high-loft synthetic microfiber insulation to the interior of each pad to minimize air movement and maximize warmth. As a result, the ReCharge XL achieves an estimated R-value of 4.7.

Finally, we utilize a large two-way flat valve to make inflation quick and easy. The valve features an internal built-in flap to prevent air from escaping when inflating. Add our optional pump sack or tiny pump to make inflation a breeze.

How do I keep the valve open while deflating?

Our large two-way valve incorporates an internal flap to keep air escaping when inflating. However, this flap can make deflation difficult by constantly closing and keeping air from being pushed out.

To remedy this, we've added a small notch on the inside of the valve to keep the flap out of the way when trying to deflate the pad. Simply insert your finger into the valve opening and push the internal flap to around 90 degrees. It should then catch on the notch and stay in place. This will keep the airway open for easy deflation.

How do I make a repair using the included repair kit?

Please follow these steps to make a repair to your sleeping pad:

  1. Cut the repair patch to cover the puncture location and provide at least 1/2 inch of overlap. Try to keep the cut to a circular shape and avoid corners which can snag.
  2. Apply an adhesive to the leak area, extending slightly beyond the size of the patch.
  3. Press the entire patch down on the adhesive and squeeze down for 2-3 minutes to help the adhesive get a good grip.
  4. Let dry for 5-10 minutes, then apply another coat of adhesive on top of the patch and give it 15-20 minutes to cure. Depending on the location of the leak, you may want to apply an additional coat to help keep the patch down over curved areas.
  5. Let the pad dry flat overnight.

What is your return/exchange policy?

We offer 60 days to accommodate any returns or exchanges of non-defective products. In some cases, we can accommodate returns and exchanges past 60 days, but these will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Any returns after 60 days will only be offered store credit.

What items are eligible for a return?

To be eligible for a return and refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

If you've purchased a tent or tarp and would like to set it up in your backyard, please do so on a dry, clear day to keep the tent/tarp as clean as possible. Pitch the tent/tarp on dry grass if possible and use other stakes if you have them available. This will keep the tent/tarp and stakes in an unused condition to facilitate a return.

If items sent back for a return/exchange show clear signs of use (excessive dirt, animal hair, etc.), the return/exchange will be rejected and the items will be shipped back.

Are shipping fees refundable?

Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the initial cost of shipping your order (if any) will be deducted from your refund.

Is return shipping free?

No, the cost of return shipping will be subtracted from the refund amount. We will provide a prepaid return label for the return shipment. The cost of return shipping will be provided to you along with the prepaid return label.

Please note that due to our shipping volume, we have access to significantly lower shipping rates than retail. As a result, the cost of the return shipping will be much lower, resulting in a higher refund.

Once the returned items are delivered and inspected (please allow 1-2 weekdays for inspection), we will issue your refund or exchange.

When a refund is processed, a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment and you will receive an email notification. Please allow 2-5 business days for the credit to appear.

Awesome Pad!

I just finished a LASH of the AT (Springer to McAfee Knob) and this pad was one of my top 3 overall gear items. I slept on it over 50 times. I used it with night temps from mid-teens to low-50s.
I'm 6'3" and 175 lbs. and primarily a side-sleeper. Here are some of my observations:
- It is comfortable. My hips/shoulders never bottomed-out, even when only 3/4 inflated. It would be nice to have a couple more inches in width, but then you add more weight (the length is more important to me).
- It is durable. No leaks at all. Several of my hiking friends got leaks in their more well-known pads.
- It is quiet - one of the quietest of all the pads I had the pleasure of hearing. Some much more expensive pads sound like someone's trying to open a potato chip bag all night. I got several comments about the lack of noise of my pad.
- It is warm, but probably not 4.7 R-value. It works to the mid-20's, but I had to use a foam pad along with it below that. Maybe the reason it is relatively quite is because it doesn't have as much insulation. I also used a 5-degree bag, so I'm not really sure which provided the most warmth.
- It fit me. It is a little slippery, so my bag would slide off occasionally when moving around, especially when the tent site wasn't level. And it slides some on the foam pad.
- It takes a few minutes to blow up by mouth (I didn't use a pump), but that's not the pad's fault.
- It deflated and packed up as easily as other pads people were using. For it's size, it packs down pretty small.

Overall, I'm very happy with this pad. I had initially intended to hike the entire AT, and I'm confident this pad would have made it the whole way. It served me very well in a variety of sleeping conditions. Based on my experience, I don't think there's a better value out there.

Comfy even for big guys, but not for winter

Took this on its maiden voyage recently - central Minnesota, temp about 30° at night with plenty of wind and a little snow. I’ve only ever used the blue foam pads from Walmart before, so no real frame of reference.

I’m 6’6” and 215 lb. This was *almost* long enough to keep my feet from hanging off the edge with my legs straight. It was thick enough I could sleep on my side without hitting the ground. Not nearly as warm as I would have expected given the 4.7 R value, but for winter trips in the future I can pair it with a foam pad underneath. By itself, I’d say 3 season only.

The 23” width is clearly an effort to split the difference between normal pads and wide pads, and I think it will work well for most people. For me, the standard 20” is ridiculous, and this is much better. My sleeping bag slid around on it a bit, but it was easy to manage.

For the price, I doubt I could beat it.

LOVE

I used this on the first 250 miles of the Colorado trail and loved it. It is just such a great piece of gear. Great price, warm, quiet, sturdy, and comfy. It is heavier than some competing sleeping pads, but it is BIG and again QUIET. I could hear other hikers all around me wiggling around on their pads but mine was nearly silent. I will probably look into getting one of the smaller sleeping pad from Paria for when I do the second half of the CT, but I cannot recommend this sleeping pad enough.

Best night of sleep at altitude

Took this on a 5 night backpacking trip through CO and it was amazing. How can this be so compact and light, and then quickly inflate to such a thick pad?? Our base camp was around 11,000 ft and this pad provided the best sleep I’ve ever had while camping! This was my first purchase from Paris and it won’t be the last!

Thick, Warm and Quiet.

This is probably my new favorite piece of gear. I have had a high end 20" pad for a few years now and it was good but I needed a new pad when my son got old enough to tag along. I decided to get something a little bigger for myself. I am so glad I gave this a shot. It is much better against the skin than my old pad. The first night out was really warm and I slept right on the pad with no problems. The next trip was in the mountains and was colder than planned. I sleep with a quilt so again, right on the pad I was just fine down to about 35 degrees overnight. The moment that really cemented this as my favorite was that next cold morning sitting up in my tent rolling up my sleeping bag and packing my backpack. I realized I was sitting up on the pad after a long cold night and it wasn't even close to bottoming out. I have never had a pad not feel at least a little softer in the morning, especially in the cold. This pad was still fully inflated. I was very impressed. I will suggest getting the fill sack. This pad holds a LOT OF AIR and I was happy not to be blowing it up with my breath.
